PARKLAND, Fla. – A Florida teenager who was injured at a Wisconsin amusement park almost three years ago will soon have a new companion as she continues her recovery.

Teagan Marti, 15, met her soon-to-be companion assistance dog Friday. Actor Charlie Sheen donated $10,000 in February to help Marti get the dog.

Teagan has named the puppy "Charlie."

"It's been a great honor and I wish Charlie Sheen was here because him making this possible was just amazing," said Julie Marti, the girl's mother. "So, what a great guy."

Teagan was injured after falling off a thrill ride, suffering brain and spinal injuries.

Charlie the dog still has some training to complete before she can go home with Teagan.

"I was just really excited and happy to finally meet her," said Teagan.
