The roommate told deputies that she was worried because Brackens left behind his cellphone, wallet, parrot, medications and bicycle, which is his only mode of transportation.

Deputies said family members and friends also said they haven't heard from Brackens in a couple of weeks.

The roommate told deputies that before his disappearance, Brackens told her that he was suffering from medical issues and said he was depressed.

Deputies said Brackens frequents several bars on Duval Street, but has not been spotted there since he was reported missing.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call detectives at 305-797-0064.
