The Florida Lottery has permanently ended the contracts of three South Florida stores after officials say an investigation found evidence of fraud.
A Lottery news release Monday announced that it will terminate sales at Akel Market, Georgia Market and Kwik Stop Food Store, all three of which are located in Pompano Beach.
The Lottery suspended sales at the three locations earlier this month.
All Lottery equipment, tickets and other property were removed from each store at that time. Criminal charges are also possible, though none have been announced.
Officials say the termination of contracts follows an investigation that began in August 2013.
