2 men steal nearly $20,000 worth of boat motors from marinas

Both burglaries occurred in Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. ā€“ Broward Sheriff's Office deputies are searching for two men who were caught on surveillance video burglarizing two marinas on Mother's Day.

Deputies say the thieves got away with almost $20,000 worth of boat motors from the Reel Loco Marine at 1132 NE 48 St. and the Outboard Shop at 1585 N. Dixie Highway.

The surveillance video shows the men first at the Outboard Shop, just after 2:30 p.m. They loosened some bolts on a motor before getting spooked by an alarm. They returned later that night, rolling on the ground to avoid the motion sensor.

That's when they stole the lower portions of two motors.Ā  At one point, one of the men removed his shirt, revealing a large tattoo on his upper back.

The lower portions of three motors and a pressure cleaner were stolen the same night from Reel Loco Marina.

If you have any information about either crime call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
