63 new troopers graduate from FHP academy

Troopers went through 25 weeks of physical, classroom training

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Sixty-three new troopers have joined the Florida Highway Patrol following graduation ceremonies in Tallahassee.

Members of the 128th basic recruit class went through 25 weeks of physical and classroom training leading up to Wednesday's graduation. They join nearly 1,800 troopers who patrol Florida's roads.

Trooper Christopher Latimer received the Executive Director's Award for achieving the highest grade point average at the academy. Marla Cuppernoll received the Director's Award for demonstrating extraordinary courtesy and dedication during training.
