Bicyclist killed in hit-and-run crash in Hallandale Beach

Police looking for driver of white Honda with front-end damage

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – The Hallandale Beach Police Department is searching for the driver of a compact white Honda that struck and killed a bicyclist Sunday night.

Police say Efrain Cross, 43, was riding his bicycle to work when he was hit in the 400 block of Southeast Ninth Street.

A witness told officers he heard a loud crash and saw a heavy-set white male speed away from the scene in a white Honda with a loud muffler.

Hallandale Beach Fire Rescue workers pronounced Cross dead at the scene.

Police say the Honda should have heavy front-end damage.
