KEY WEST, Fla. - A large boa constrictor was captured by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials after it was found in the back of a U-Haul truck in Key West.

FWC officers Mitchell Robb and John Conlin wrestled with the 8-foot boa constrictor for about 30 minutes before safely removing it from the U-Haul.

The officers turned the snake over to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in the lower Keys.

It is not known whether the snake was from the wild or a pet that escaped from its owner.

Anyone with information about the snake is asked to contact the FWC at 305-470-6863.
