HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - Police say a bicyclist was struck and killed by a car in Hollywood Sunday.
It happened as the man tried to cross Taft Street and North 66th Avenue. The 52-year old bicyclist was peddling north across the intersection when a witness said he was hit by the car and thrown 50 feet into the air.
"Just saw the man lying out on the street and he wasn't moving so I called 911," Louis Tirado told Local 10's Ben Kennedy.
"It didn't look good, not good at all," Tirado added.
The driver stopped and was working with police, authorities said.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
