Witness says stabbing result of ongoing family feud

LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. – A man was stabbed Friday night during a football game at Boyd Anderson High School, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Witnesses said Matthew Dorsett, 18, was stabbed several times.

Caire Richards said Dorsett and the suspect are related. Richards said the stabbing was part of an ongoing family feud.

"Before I can run up and do something, he run on the field and let the police arrest him," Richards said.

BSO spokeswoman Gina Carter said the victim was taken to Broward Health Medical Center. The victim's condition was not immediately known.

"He was just stabbing him from everywhere. ... He stabbed him in the heart," Richards said.

The 16-year-old suspect was taken into custody, but his name hasn't been released.
