LAUDERHILL, Fla. - A summer program in Broward County is giving young people a chance to learn how to play golf.
Instructors at The First Tee Broward say they are also teaching the kids life lessons.
"Inherently, in the game of golf, there are values like responsibility, respect, and integrity, so we use the game as an excuse to teach those values," said Skip Eubanks, the Executive Director of the program.

The volunteers offer up their time because they love golf, and they love working with the kids.
"I want the children to have access to this beautiful game that they can take for life," said volunteer Adriana Lecorgne. "They learn so many values when they play golf."
The First Tee program reaches about 600 kids a year in Broward County, but they are hoping to expand. The program will be available in six elementary schools next year.
