BSO releases suspect sketch

Police believe man on sketch may have information in death of man found ashore in Deerfield Beach

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – BSO has released the sketch of a man who they believe may have information regarding the death of a man whose body washed ashore in Deerfield Beach last October.

A BSO deputy on ATV patrol on the beach discovered the body in the 900 block of southeast 21 avenue, behind the embassy suites.

47-year-old Jay Harper was in South Florida for a business conference, according to investigators. Police say Harper went to the beach with a woman sometime after midnight. He was found dead two hours later, police say.

The woman he had been with is not a suspect in the case. However, police believe foul played a role in Harper's death.

According to the Medical Examiner's office, the cause of Harper's death remains undetermined at this time.
