MIAMI – Former Florida Governor and current U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist has filed for divorce from his wife Carole.
The Tampa Bay Times reports Crist and his wife are splitting after nine years of marriage.
"I think the world of Carole. She's an amazing person. It just didn't work out for us," the former governor told the Tampa Bay Times. "I wish all the the best for her."
The couple met in fall of 2007 and were married in 2008.
Most recently, Carole Crist served as her husband's political director.
