BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - A convicted sex offender was arrested when police said he tried to meet up with who he thought was a teenaged boy.
Boynton Beach Police said Vandairy Cleckley, 50, sent an instant message to an undercover officer he believed was an underage boy.
Police said Cleckley asked the "boy" to meet for sex.
When Cleckley showed up at the meeting place on Tuesday night, he was arrested.
Detectives said Cleckley never registered his instant message screen name with law enforcement, which is required by state statute.
Right now, he is charged with failure of sex offender to properly register email or instant message name, but police said he could face more charges.
Right now he is being held on $3,000 bond.
