Crash closes busy Broward intersection

One in custody after police investigation ends in crash

MIRAMAR, Fla. – Several law enforcement agencies were at the scene of a traffic crash at the intersection of Palm Avenue and Pembroke Road in Miramar Monday morning.

Miramar police told Local 10's Liane Morejon that the crash happened after a burglary suspect fled Pembroke Pines.

A white Chevrolet Monte Carlo collided with a gray SUV. The Monte Carlo was seen with damage to the front passenger side and a broken side view mirror. Police say the driver of the gray SUV remained on the scene.

Broward Sheriff's deputies say one person is now in custody in connection with this incident.

A section of Palm Avenue was closed to traffic as investigators look in to what happened. It has since reopened.
