Deer gets caught in soccer net

Big Pine Key, Fla. - At about 7:30 Saturday morning, a Key deer buck was spotted with its antlers stuck in a soccer net.

Deputy Danielle Malone found the deer at St. Peter Church on Big Pine Key.

The deputy managed to safely free the deer from the net. It then ran off without any injuries.

Key deer are the smallest of the Virginia white-tailed deer subspecies and are endangered. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services says the deer have been threatened by development, habitat loss and hurricanes.
