Anonymous tip leads police to suspect in Hollywood burglary

Police say SUV used in getaway spotted in Rafael Rodriguez Noya's driveway

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. ā€“ An anonymous tip led to the arrest of a Hallandale Beach man accused of burglarizing a Hollywood home last month.

Rafael Rodriguez Noya, 64, faces charges of burglary and grand theft in connection with the July 9 break-in.

Surveillance video released earlier this month showed a man climbing through a window at the home in the 100 block of North 31st Avenue.

Hollywood police said the man got away with about $4,000 in cash and jewelry.

According to a police report, someone called Crime Stoppers and identified the burglar as Noya.

Witnesses told police that the burglar got away in a black SUV. When police went to Noya's home, they found a black SUV parked in the driveway.

Police said the SUV was registered to Noya and that his driver's license picture looked like the man seen in the surveillance video.
