The bicyclist suffered minor injuries and rescue did not need to transport the victim.

The area is popular among bicyclists due to the sea breeze and clear views of Miami's skyline and Biscayne Bay.

Aaron Cohen, 35, died while riding his bicycle on the Rickenbacker Causeway in 2012. His death prompted the Aaron Cohen Act Life Protection Act, which mandates a minimum sentence of three years for drivers who leave the scene of an accident resulting in injuries.
