PORT MIAMI, Fla. - The countdown is on to a possible strike at Port Miami and other U.S. East Coast and Gulf ports.
The longshoremen's union is at odds with the United States Maritime Alliance.
If they can't come to terms. the longshoremen said they will walk off the job on Dec. 30.
Analysts said that would lead to a complete shutdown of Port Miami and cost South Florida millions of dollars in economic losses.
Both sides have been urged to stay at the negotiating table as the Dec. 30 deadline approaches.
