3 teens shot in Miami Gardens

Injuries not considered life-threatening; motive for shooting unknown

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Police are investigating after three teenagers were shot Saturday afternoon in Miami Gardens.

The shooting was reported at 4:20 p.m. on Bunche Park Drive near Northwest 24th Avenue Road.

Miami Gardens police said the three boys were outside a home when they were shot. 

Based on the initial investigation, this incident appears to be gang-related, police said. 

"This is an open investigation,"  Miami Gardens police spokeswoman Petula Burks  said. "The incident occurred at a house, and not the park."

A 17-year-old victim was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, a 16-year-old was taken to Jackson North Medical Center and another 16-year-old was taken to Adventura Hospital.

Their injuries are not considered life-threatening; however, the 17-year-old victim, who was taken to Ryder Trauma Center, was listed in critical condition on Sunday.
