2 survive light-sport aircraft crash near Biscayne National Park

Pilot, passenger pulled from water

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A light-sport aircraft crashed into the ocean Saturday afternoon near Biscayne National Park, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. 

The pilot and a passenger survived the crash and did not require medical attention, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Lt. Felipe Lay said.

Authorities from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and park employees assisted.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
