Police: SUV crashes into house in west Miami-Dade

Video shows firefighters transport at least 1 person to hospital

MIAMI, Fla. – A man driving a silver SUV somehow lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree, fence and crashed into a house located at 325 Northwest 84th Court on Tuesday, police said.

According to police, Carlos Pacheco, was sitting in his home Tuesday afternoon when the SUV ended up inside.

Pacheco and the driver were been transported to Kendall Regional Hospital.

One witness told Local 10's Ross Palombo "it was terrible, like an explosion."

"I thought it was a bomb," said another witness.

After slamming into the living room of the house, the SUV hit a couch where a 47-year-old man was sitting.

"It's just crazy," said Guillermo Blanco.

Blanco was one of the first to see the crash up close. He said he walked over to help as rescuers rushed Pacheco into the ambulance.

"Just lucky, all I can say," Blanco said.

Family members said the driver was also lucky. He had a cut to his hand, but otherwise is OK.

"There's a big curve right there, very extreme," said Blanco. "I guess he kept going straight."

Police said they're conducting sobriety tests on the driver to see if he will face any charges.
