WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – A teenager, who recovered after being set on fire by a group of teens in 2009 was arrested on drug charges Wednesday night.
Police arrested Michael Brewer, 18, about 9 p.m. in West Palm Beach and charged him with six counts of possessing drug equipment and marijuana and cocaine possession charges.
According to an arrest affidavit, a Palm Beach Sheriff's Office deputy saw a white minivan make a u-turn through a red light. The deputy pulled the driver, Brewer, over. Three others were inside the vehicle.

Brewer told the deputy he didn't have a valid driver's license and when asked if he was in possession of any illegal substances, Brewer said he had just bought some bongs and glass pipes, according to police. He was also carrying a pocket knife.
Deputies found marijuana, crack cocaine, three oxycodone pills, an empty prescription for morphine, 14 glass pipes, a 24-inch glass bong, a grinder, and cigarette papers, according to the affidavit.
Brewer told police the crack cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia was his.
As of Thursday morning, Brewer remained in the Palm Beach County Jail.
"Get the help you need. Get straightened out and stay out of trouble," the judge told Brewer. "The worst thing you can do right now for your lawyer is to add a new case. It'll make it very hard for him to do anything for your case."
"These charges are not that serious," said Steve Benedict, Brewer's public defender. "They're possession of a couple types of drugs. They are the least felonies you can have. They're not all that serious."
Brewer suffered severe burns when he was set on fire by three other teens in the 2009 attack. They have all been sentenced to prison time.
