Mike Pouncey criticized for tweet posted during Thursday's draft

Ja'Waun James Dolphins' first pick in 2014 draft

MIAMI – A member of the Miami Dolphins is facing some scrutiny after his tweet posted during Thursday's draft.

Right tackle. Ja'Waun James was the Dolphins' first pick in this year's draft.

General Manager Dennis Hickey said the University of Tennessee player was "The best player available on the board, and that made the team's decision easy."

Soon after the announcement, Pouncey tweeted "Great pick! I can't wait for our gifts he's getting us. LOL."

This comes as the Dolphins insist they are starting a new chapter in the locker room, following the bullying scandal that plagued last season.

Pouncey was one of the key Dolphins implicated in the investigators' report surrounding Jonathan Martin. Martin is now a member of the 49ers, and the so-called ringleader, Richie Incognito is out of the league at the moment.

Pro-Bowler Branden Albert was also signed Thursday to play left tackle, as well as veterans Shelley Smith and Jason Fox.

The Dolphins and the rest of the NFL teams will make more picks in rounds two and three Friday night.

The final rounds are Saturday.
