Mother released on bail after allegedly stabbing, choking, biting son

Boy tells police Mozghan Kardan stabbed him in head with scissors

DAVIE, Fla. – A Davie mom is already out on bond after police say she admitted to choking, biting, and stabbing her 13-year old son with a pair of scissors during an argument.

Mozhgan Kardan, however, is claiming she was only defending herself against the middle school student.

The incident came to light after police say a resource officer at Indian Ridge Middle School received notice that the student was allegedly stabbed with a pair of scissors by his biological mother.

Officers say the student was reluctant to speak about the incident but eventually told them what happened the day before May 7.

According to police, the boy began arguing with his mother over her alcohol consumption and parental house rules when things turned physical.

He stated his mother struck him on the right side of his face with a large cigarette lighter. Police say the boy told them he fell and tried defending himself against his mother by pushing her face, which is when police say she bit the boy's right thumb.

According to the police report, the victim freed himself and headed for the front door of the home when his mother admitted to throwing a pair of scissors at him.

He was struck on the right side of his head and started bleeding.

The boy went to a friends house, whose parents treated the injuries.

Kardan was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse, only telling investigators she never intended the scissors to hit her son.

She was released on a $7,500 bond.
