Ocala woman reports stolen turkey

Thief makes off with Thanksgiving turkey

Headline Goes Here

OCALA, Fla. - An Ocala woman says thieves made off with her Thanksgiving turkey just days before her planned feast.

Joyce Romer says she asked her husband to get the 12.5-pound bird from the freezer so she could start defrosting it.  He came back in the house and asked, "where'd you put the thing?"

The Romers checked the freezer again, but there was no turkey inside.

They reported the turkey theft to the Marion County Sheriff's Office on Monday.

Joyce Romer ended up purchasing a new bird.

She says she's just puzzled as to why the thief didn't take the beer she had stored nearby.
