Police: 2 found dead in apartment

Neighbors grew concerned after not seeing couple

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Two people believed to be visiting from Canada were found dead in an apartment in Hallandale Beach Thursday night, according to police.

The victims were found at the Venetian Park apartment complex at 926 Northeast 25th Avenue.

Police said the bodies were discovered by the couple's neighbors. Residents told detectives they hadn't seen the couple and grew concerned. That's when they used the spare to key to enter the couple's apartment.

"So they go in, and find their friends deceased," said Captain Sonia Quinones.

Authorities said they suspect foul play.

Residents said the two were from Canada and rarely stayed in the apartment.

Neighbors told Local 10's Ross Palombo they're shocked by the news.

"Oh that's horrible," said one resident. "This is a great place in Venetian Park. I don't understand how that could happen."
