Scott urges Florida to observe moment of silence for Newtown

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Gov. Scott is urging all Floridians to observe a moment of silence on Friday at 9:30 a.m. for the victims of the elementary school massacre in Newtown.

20 school children were killed in the shooting that started around 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 14

Scott said he received a letter from Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy asking all state Governors to participate in the moment of silence.

"Our thoughts and prayers remain with the people of Newtown in this difficult time - and we all continue to pray that peace comes to the families and all those impacted by this tragedy," Gov. Scott said.
