Truck crashes through Verizon Wireless store in Hialeah

Similar smash-and-grab burglaries happen Tuesday in Hollywood, Hialeah

HIALEAH, Fla. – Police are reviewing surveillance video from a Verizon Wireless store after someone drove a truck through the security gate and front door early Wednesday morning.

The incident happened off West 49th Street in Hialeah.

Police said the crook managed to get away with cellphones and accessories, but it's not clear how much merchandise was stolen.

The break-in comes just one day after a T-Mobile store was broken into in Hollywood. In that incident, two men crashed a Nissan SUV into the store window at 4907 Sheridan Street and took off with phones.

Police are investigating whether the Hollywood burglary is related to a similar one in Homestead.
