Football game canceled due to 'gang-related activity,' says district

Palm Beach Sheriff's Office says 2 teens arrested, 1 sought

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. – Palm Beach County Schools says a football game between Miami-Northwestern and Glades Central was canceled Friday due to "gang-related activity" that happened Thursday night near Glades Central.

The Palm Beach Sheriff's Office said two groups of teens were fighting when a teen in one of the groups produced a gun and fired shots at the other group.

One teen was hit in the leg and hip, and was taken to Delray Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, deputies said.

Two of the teens were arrested, and deputies said a third teen is currently being sought.

The district notified school board police who contacted Miami-Dade and for the safety of all students, said the game was canceled.
