Police believe tractor-trailer driver may not know what happened

This is the tractor-trailer that police believe was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Fort Lauderdale.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Police have released surveillance photographs of a tractor-trailer believed to be involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a man in Fort Lauderdale.

David Richter is believed to have been standing on Sunrise Boulevard when he was struck by the rear wheels of a tractor-trailer exiting Interstate 95 on Monday, Fort Lauderdale police Detective DeAnna Greenlaw said.

Richter was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe the driver of the tractor-trailer may not have been aware of what happened.
