Fort Lauderdale man arrested on child pornography charges

Police: Peter Fosenbauer, 54, possessed more than 100 images, videos of child porn

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A man from Fort Lauderdale is facing almost two dozen possession of child pornography charges after police found more than 100 images and videos of child porn on his computer.

Peter Fosenbauer, 54, was taken into custody Thursday at The Cordova Hotel at 1441 Cordova Road in Fort Lauderdale.

According to the arrest report, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, as well as authorities with the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, conducted an undercover investigation which led to the discovery of an IP address that was sharing child pornography. Detectives said they linked that IP address to Fosenbauer.

Fosenbauer is accused of using SKYPE to meet children in chatrooms. Detectives said after establishing a relationship with the children, he would coerce them to expose their genitals to him via webcam.

Police said they also found more than 100 images and videos depicting child pornography with victims as young as two years old being forced to have sex.

The images and videos are being reviewed by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in an attempt to locate the victims.

Fosenbauer is charged with 20 counts of possession of child pornography, one count of use of a computer to obtain child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography with the intent to promote.
