Fort Lauderdale police offers financial reward to find woman's killer

Homicide detectives look for clues to find person who beat woman to death

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Broward Crime Stoppers was offering a financial reward of up to $3,000 for information on a woman's killer, Fort Lauderdale police said Friday. 

Police officers responded to a call about 8:30 a.m., Thursday, at 418 NW 13 Ave., in Fort Lauderdale. They found Cynthia Ann Hardeman's body. She had been beat up to death.

"She was a well-loved person," her sister Erica Hines said Thursday. 

Hardeman, 45, was also known in her neighborhood as lawn lady, because she cut grass every now and then to make some money. She also had a history of drug abuse and had been arrested for prostitution earlier this year.

Hardeman is survived by one son. Police were asking anyone with information to call 954-493-8477 or 1-866-493-8477.
