Police say vehicle killed dog, hit woman before taking off

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Police are searching for a car that allegedly hit a dog and her owner Sunday evening, and then took off.

According to Fort Lauderdale police, the owner's poodle jumped out of a car and her owner ran after her.

Police said a car driving down the street hit and killed the dog.

The same vehicle hit the woman as well before taking off. Police said she was transported to Holy Cross Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are looking for a black four-door Mercury Montego.

No other information has been released at this time.
