MIAMI - Miami-Dade Animal Services Department will offer FREE spay/neuter surgeries and vaccines for dogs on Sunday, May 6, 2012, beginning at 8:00 am, at Walker Community Center, located at 2825 W. 8th Ave. in Hialeah.
In order to participate, an appointment MUST be made by calling 3-1-1.
#Many in my community have requested that we offer spay and neuter surgeries to dogs and cats. In order to achieve this goal, we have partnered with the Miami-Dade Animal Services Department and the City of Hialeah to provide this service. I hope that members of my district will take advantage of this great opportunity and help your pet and the community by spaying or neutering your animal," said Commissioner Bovo.
"There are so many pets that are not spayed or neutered thereby adding to the overpopulation crisis. In order to remedy this crisis along with helping your pet live a longer and healthier life, it would be beneficial to have your pet spayed or neutered," said Alex Muñoz, Director of Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department.
This service is available to all Miami-Dade County residents.
Each year, the shelter impounds approximately 30,000 pets. The goal at Animal Services is to reunite lost pets with their families or find life-long homes for as many animals as possible. For more information, visit www.miamidade.gov/animals or call 3-1-1.
