Fund created for injured Broward Sheriff's Office deputy

Daniel Rivera critically injured

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office created a fund to help pay for the medical costs of deputy critically injured when he crashed his patrol car into a tree.

Deputy Daniel Rivera was headed to the Pompano Beach substation when he crashed off Interstate 95 early Wednesday.

Rivera, 32, remained in critical condition Friday at Broward Health North.
