FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A gas leak that prompted the evacuation of several homes in Fort Lauderdale Beach has been capped.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue said construction crews caused a gas leak on State Road A1A near Southeast 18th Street.
A1A was briefly closed in both directions while firefighters worked to cap the leak.
No injuries were reported, and residents were allowed back inside their homes.
