Governor Rick Scott asks university presidents to say ‘no' to tuition hike

The governor plans to veto the measure that would increase college tuition by three percent

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Governor Rick Scott is against a three percent tuition hike for Florida's universities and now he's asked university officials to show that they don't  support it either.

The Miami Herald reports that the governor reached out to all 12 state university presidents and asked them to sign a letter that said they do not want more tuition revenue.

The deadline to sign the letter was Friday, but university leaders could not come to an agreement on the matter.

The governor now plans to veto the measure.
