Gravel truck spill causes delays

Lanes reopen after crash delays northbound lanes of Florida's Turnpike

DAVIE, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol says all lanes have reopened after a gravel truck rolled over in the northbound lanes of Florida's Turnpike before the Griffin Road exit, causing major delays.

Officials said the crash happened before 5 pm on Wednesday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver lost control, hit a wall, and overturned. Officials said the man wasn't injured.

FHP said the man may have possibly had a blow out, causing him to lose control. Northbound traffic was being diverted at Hollywood Boulevard.

The area was cleaned up Wednesday evening, which took roughly an hour to do.
