MIAMI - The Miami Police Department collected a total of 79 firearms at Saturday's buy back program.
The operation was created in efforts to reduce gun violence and unnecessary injuries to Miami citizens.
Commissioners, Mayor Tomas Regalado and Chief Manuel Orosa of MPD hosted the final Gun Buy Back Operation of the year at Jordan Grove MB Church.
Those who dropped off firearms received a gift certificate provided by the operation's partners and sponsors.
