MIAMI – A Hallandale Beach man pleaded guilty Thursday and was sentenced in three separate cases involving attempted extortion, bank robbery and product tampering.
According to the Department of Justice, in a case of threatening a Publix outside of Dania Beach, while trying to extort millions of dollars from the Publix chain, Brian Henderson, 50, of Hallandale, pleaded guilty to numerous charges and was sentenced to 188 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.

In a case of threatening a teller at a Chase Bank if they did not give him $40,000 in $100 bills, Henderson pleaded guilty to a bank robbery charge and was sentenced to 188 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised released, the DOJ said.
He also pleaded guilty to a charge of threatening to tamper with a consumer product with reckless disregard after telling a company in New Jersey that if they didn't give him a sum of money he would poison 20 containers of a product distributed by the company and placed them on the shelves in 20 different stores, according to the DOJ. He was sentenced to 60 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
Henderson's sentences will run concurrently.
