Boca Raton man says LifeSpan treadmill desk helped him shed 25 pounds

BOCA RATON, Fla. – A Boca Raton man says he lost 25 pounds by using a treadmill desk.

Herman Camarena is a chief data scientist with a company in California. He spends most of his time working out of his Boca Raton home.

But Camarena's not sitting down. Instead, he uses a treadmill desk.

"I try to put between three to five miles per day, but sometimes I have gone 13 miles," he said.

Camarena decided to buy the LifeSpan treadmill desk about a year ago as part of his resolution to get healthy.

It worked. He lost about 25 pounds without even realizing it, but admitted using the desk was tricky in the beginning.

"You know, I made a lot of mistakes with the mouse or the wrong keys, but you know, you get used to it pretty soon," he said.

Camarena said weight loss isn't the only perk.

"You see some benefits from it. For example, after lunch when you get sleepy, if you are walking, you don't get sleepy."

Camarena now loves getting work done while on the move and recommends it to everyone.

"If they have a job that requires them to be sitting for awhile, this is a great idea. I mean its perfect."
