Hospital officials: High alert patient did not meet criteria for Ebola testing

AVENTURA, Fla. – A South Florida hospital received its latest Ebola scare after a patient arrived at Aventura Hospital Tuesday showing possible signs of the deadly virus.

The hospital released a statement after examining the patient saying, "Aventura Hospital and Medical Center did receive a high alert patient today. We followed all appropriate protocols and procedures to treat for suspected Ebola. Our Emergency and Infectious Disease Physicians assessed the patient and together with the Miami-Dade County Health Department determined that the patient did not meet criteria for Ebola testing.
