Workplace bulllying deemed harmful to health

PLANTATION, Fla. – Anti-bullying program moves over to target the workplace.

Meline Kevorkian, a Nova Southeastern University associate provost, is an expert on bullying. She and other experts claim that victims of bullying in the workplace have a higher risk of getting sick.

"A boss, co-worker, friend or neighbor is a bully," an invitation to Kevorkian's upcoming presentation on the issue said. "Bullying can happen anywhere -- even in nursing homes."

Workplace bullying is "a health-harming mistreatment" of others. Kevorkian plans to speak at 7 pm., Wednesday April 29, at St. Gregory Parish Center, 200 N. University Dr., in Plantation.
