MIAMI, Fla. -

Miami police are looking for the driver of black Jeep Wrangler, who was involved in a hit-and-run that left a woman in a hospital bed on her birthday Friday.

"The Jeep Wrangler has a spare tire on the back without a base cover," Miami Police spokeswoman Kenia Reyes said.

On May 14, Katalina Calderon remembers she was standing on the sidewalk at Coral Way and Southwest Second Avenue in Miami when a driver hit her and did not stop to render aid.

"He was speeding on the curb and he couldn't take the curb the right way so he just run into the sidewalk where I was standing," said Calderon. "I was thrown on the pavement and I was in so much pain, just yelling and screaming."

Calderon expects to undergo several surgeries before she can walk again.

Police are asking any one with information to call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
