Horse found slaughtered in Miami Gardens

Animal's carcass found in driveway of Radio Shield Technology

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – A horse was found slaughtered in Miami Gardens Wednesday morning.

According to investigators, about 8 a.m., someone reported that a dead animal had been dumped in the driveway of a business called Radio Shield Technologies, 5295 NW 163rd St.

"I think it is crazy," said Abel Fallat, who works nearby. "I don't know. That should be someone's horse."

Police found the horse dismembered and decapitated.

"It is very unusual," said Miami Gardens Det. Carlton Coleman. "I mean, it is a horrible crime."

"This horse was slaughtered while still alive," said SFSPCA President Jeanette Jordan. "My greatest hope is that the perpetrators of this hideous crime will be caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law."

Police said that the lack of blood around the carcass indicates the animal was not killed at that location.

"They must have dragged it here on something like a pick-up truck or something. They dumped it right in front of here," said Fallat.
