Police say Joel Rodriguez burglarized some Daytona Beach restaurants because he said he was hungry.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - A Miami man told police he broke into multiple Daytona Beach restaurants because he was hungry, according to the police affidavit.

Joel Rodriguez, 41, is accused of taking a cake and beer from Steve's Famous Diner and bags of rice from Church's Chicken.

Police said Rodriguez also stole nurse uniforms from a medical supply store.

According to the report, Rodriguez told police he traded the beer for a place to stay at a local crack house. He also said he sold the nurses uniforms.

Rodriguez faces multiple charges, including burglary, trespassing and attempted burglary. He was being held at a Volusia County jail Friday morning.
