Husband accused of trying to seduce 15-year-old babysitter

Kevin Millsap makes first court appearance Thursday

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A man from Margate made his first appearance before a judge Thursday morning after police claim he attempted to lure and seduce a 15-year-old girl.

Kevin Millsap is charged with traveling to meet a minor after using a computer to lure her. He is also charged with three counts of transmitting information harmful to minors.

Police said Millsap met the teenager while she was a student in his wife's class. They say the teen babysat his kids on two occasions.

According to the arrest report, Millsap told the teen she was "gorgeous" and said that he wanted to engage in multiple sex acts with her. Police said at some point Millsap sent a text messages to the victim saying "soon you'll be 18" and "question...do you like that I am older than you?"

Police were notified and continued communication with Millsap. Officers then set up a sting where they claim Millsap intended to meet the teen to have sex in the backseat of his car. Instead he was met by police.

Both Millsap's wife and family were in the courtroom Thursday, as well as the family of the victim.
