Husband beats wife in front of their 3 young children, deputies say

Deputies: Alan Alt, 28, armed and dangerous

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who they said beat his wife in front of their three young children, inside their Oakland Park home Tuesday night.

Deputies said Alan Michael Alt, 28, pushed and repeatedly struck his wife, Elisa Alt, 28, in the face and head after an argument. They said she fell to the ground, and Alan got on top of her, continuing to beat her with his fists, elbows and knees.

Elisa was able to run out of the house to safety but Alan was still inside with the children.

After a SWAT standoff, the children were brought out of the home but Alan was nowhere to be found.

Deputies said Alan is mentally unstable with an undiagnosed bipolar disorder.

Elisa was taken to Broward Health North for medical treatment. She suffered a fractured nose and several bruises to her body.
