SWEETWATER, Fla. -

A new IKEA in Sweetwater is scheduled to open Wednesday at 9 a.m., but already there were people in line early Tuesday morning.

A day before its grand opening, at least 20 people were spotted camping outside the store to make sure they got the best sale offers.

Sky 10 was above the store, where people could be seen with beds, nightstands and tents. The first 39 people in line will receive a free sofa valued at $399, while the next 100 people will get a free armchair.

The popular home furnishings retailer will be offering prizes throughout the day.

The store is located at the intersection of the Dolphin Expressway and Florida’s Turnpike, near the Dolphin Mall.

It’s the Swedish company’s second store in South Florida since another one opened in Broward in 2007.

The new store has produced approximately 350 new jobs.
