MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating an incident at Dade Correctional Institution near Florida City that led to an inmate being airlifted to a hospital.
Sky 10 was above Kendall Regional Medical Center Monday afternoon as the inmate was brought in by paramedics.

A Florida Department of Corrections representative told Local 10 News that the inmate was apparently involved in an altercation with another inmate.
Authorities said no other details will be released at this time, because this is an "open and active criminal investigation."
